Cynthia Gale created a niche for herself in the art world as a museum piece jewelry designer in the mid-1990’s. Her husband and business partner Glenn joined Cynthia in 1995 to operate GeoArt by Cynthia Gale. The primary design inspiration for Cynthia’s exquisite artisan-crafted sterling silver jewelry collection has evolved from the fast pace and rich cultural diversity of her life in New York City. Many of her collection concepts have shaped themselves through visits to Soho and Chelsea galleries, museums and the theatre. Cynthia’s urban existence coupled with her exploration of a simpler lifestyle through her frequent production trips to Indonesia. This unique blend has clearly defined her design sense and given birth to not just another jewelry line, but rather a jewelry lifestyle. Frequent production trips to Bali and Java brought Cynthia and Glenn close to this distinctive culture and they now spend summers there with their two children, Isabelle and Ian.
Through her signature collection, Cynthia currently holds licensing partnerships with over fifteen of our nation’s leading museums and cultural institutions including: Washington National Cathedral, J. Paul Getty Villa, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Mount Vernon and The Jewish Museum. She also creates unique product for The Metropolitan Museum of Art and The Smithsonian utilizing this distinctive technique. Working with permanent collection pieces, incoming art exhibits and museum architecture, Cynthia creates contemporary collections of modern elegance, which she markets to high-end catalogues, museum shops, fine jewelry stores and upscale galleries. Other clients include Golden Bear, National Geographic and Barnes and Noble.
For Cynthia Gale, jewelry is art and art is jewelry. Every piece in each of her collections is created to convey to the wearer a sense of the cultural, historical or spiritual inspiration that went into creating it.
As Cynthia says, “A woman’s clothing covers the canvas, but her accessories provide the details. That is what makes her unique.”
