As a child she would sit on her back porch in the late afternoon sun, sewing sequins onto scraps of black velvet. The effect of the dramatic light and glowing colours fascinated her, and it is this love of colour and light that still inspires her artwork. Her background is glasswork...painted, fused and leaded light-boxes. She created the Bella Luz line of lighting products to share the light, colour and dreamy imagery of her artwork. They cast a warm and useful, magical glow in any space.
Luminettes are night lights that are made of hand-patinated copper frames, housing original illustrations which are photographed and transformed into durable translucent images.
